Somewhere Within Reach

 Sinking
 in a liquid penance.
  
 Answers floating
  
 all around but never the One
 that’s more 
 than just
 enough.
 Never the one that enlightens
 and lifts                                   
  
 Frantic. Suffocating.
                    Knowing the answer is
 there but 
 unable                          to                                 find    
  
 it.
  
 There is no peace, only sinking
 heavy, lack of
 air, black
 then, 
  
 a whisper
  
 of fingers on neck
 lips
 face.  
 Stronger now. Persuasion.
 and just before 
  
 the surface    
             br e a ks
  
 eyes meet 
 and the answers don’t 
 matter 
 any  more.
